Last night was our annual Christmas viewing of The Bishop’s Wife, a wonderful 1947 movie starring Cary Grant, David Niven, and Loretta Young.
How do you feel about City of Angels, the Nicolas Cage/Meg Ryan remake of Wings of Desire?
I have never seen it. I love the original so much that I’m afraid to see any remakes. Is it worth a try?
Well, I saw it in the theater in 1998 when I was in undergrad and not since then. I really liked it then, but I have no idea if it holds up or not. I suspect not.
Is Meg Ryan a trapeze artist? (Also, Peter Falk’s cameo is impossible to top. As are the musical performances.)
Methinks not. At least, I don't remember any trapezery happening. She's a doctor in this version.
